Vidarbha Lion Babu L. N. Hardas
Babu L. N. Hardas whose real name is Hardas Laxmanrao Nagrale, popularly known as Babu L.N. Hardas was a Dalit leader and social reformer in India. He was an ardent follower of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and was pioneer of the practice of exchanging the greeting Jai Bhim amongst the Dalits. He was also a prominent labour leader in the Central Province and was the general secretary of the Independent Labour Party in the province.
Born on January 6, 1904 at Kamthi Died on January 12, 1939 at the of aged 35 only was a dashing Bidi Workers Union Leader and asking for special status to Vidarbha in Central Province . Because of his efforts and other Non Brahmin leaders in CP and Berar , British government has agreed for Mahavodarbha passing a resolution unanimously in 1938 before the death of this young Vidarbhawadi leader . He is real Vidarbha Lion . His Portrait photo need to be hanged in Nagpur hall of present Vidhan Sabha and when Vidarbha declared a separate state , need to be acknowledged as Father of Vidarbha State . We pay our tribute to this Vidarbha Lion .
